might also wanna take a timing gun with a signal pick up and check to make sure all the wires have a signal and make sure you have them on the right plugs and what not. i had a really messed up tps and my car sounded nothing like that .. i would call that a "skip" in the engine ..

mine never starts that fast.... mine takes like 3 seconds or so...the starter has to build up the speed of the motor...

my 87 base does that at a cold start, then evens at 800 rpm when its at normal temp

Your car sounds good, probably is a vacuum leak like they said, my brother had the same problem with his eclipse because the bov was leaking air on idle, along with a vacuum screw on the throttlebody.

i have an 87 se that im currently working on (needs a wiring harness), then i will get to see if mine starts up and sounds as nice

Nice flame, what is it trying to idle at? mine idled like that when I did the auto to manual conversion. I had forgotten to block off the pipe from the intake to auto, so mine was vac leak. Im not saying that it is that though. Good luck with the car.
