Vibrations at idle. Help!

I did a search on this and came up with a few possible solutions. Motor mounts, tranny mounts and diff mounts. How can I test each of these if they are really the one?

I've only got the vibration during idle. The shifter shakes when it does this. When the engine revs, it smooths out.

Mazdatrix sells engine and tranny mounts, but I cannot source diff mounts.

Thanks for the help.

same problem. i figured it probably needs new plugs and wires. if you get new mounts then it will just shake the car more as i'd see it. i was concentrating on getting the engine to idle smoother. am i far off base anyone?

o2 looks pretty new on mine. as in at least only 30k on it. 101k on the odometer and it has the original wires so that needs replaced. i also need to send a tank of injector cleaner through. extra ground wire is also on the list.

I figure that if a tranny or motor mount is busted, putting in a working one will negate a lot of the vibration at idle. True, it won't be perfectly smooth, but atleast the motor or tranny isn't trying to hop itself out of my car.

true, but if the motor is running rough then it will jump around bad mount or not. actually you should feel it more if the mount is good since it will transmit more vibration. if its bad you won't feel as much but it will twist around like crazy.

I recently bought another Turbo II that had the same problem. Car shook during idle, but ran fine otherwise. (boost gauge didn't respond) I found two cracked vacuum hoses and once I replaced them, the car idled perfectly. Something to check, hope it helps.

You guys were right, and now I have to deal with returning the mounts to Mazdatrix (i never installed them).

My friend and I found a vacuum line totally disconnected (supposed to connect to the FPR). We plugged that back in and the idle improved. We then used carb cleaner and tested for gasket leaks and found that my middle intake manifold gasket is leaking at of the corners. That saves me some money.
