Question Can i replace just the cable on my sunroof?

I removed my sunroof today to figure out why its not working and i found that right where the motor gear bolts against the panel where the gear contacts the two cables, the one cable is all twisted and bound up. can i replace just the cable or do i need to buy a whole assembly?

I haven't had mine apart yet, but from looking at the exploded view, if they are attached to the right and left guide and are two separate pieces, you can but for new ones you'd be looking at about 200 a piece.

i would be buying used.. i just figure it would be alot cheaper since shipping just the cable would be like 10 bucks compared to like 60 for the whole assembly
