Angry uh oh...blue smoke

Ok, well over the last 2 months or so, when I would start up my car, OCASSIONALLY I would get a little puff of blue smoke. Well in the last 2 months its been steadily getting worse. It doesn't smoke when driving, just when it first starts, and its starting to do it more frequently, and its starting to smoke more when it does it, sometimes it will smoke for a few minutes before I drive it. I don't have gas in my oil, my car is running as strong as ever right now. What could cause this? Are my side seals or corner seals going? My compression on both rotors, all faces is around 90psi, so thats not bad. So why am I burning oil?

It's probably the oil seals. A good test - after it's warmed up, take 2nd up to about 6k, lift off to about 3k, then step on it and look out the back. If repair $ is tight right now, a shot of STP or motor honey will buy you a little time.

I tried taking my car up to 6k in 2nd and letting off to 3k and then stepping on it again, and I see no smoke, I did it several times. It only smokes when first starting the car.

Possible your getting a lil leftover smoke from the OMP and the few drops are causing the burn? It may not smoke when you have it up to 6K and drop, because you doing it when its warmed up and everything in the engine has expanded somewhat and sealed better due to heat. When it does smoke when fully warm, your running out of time, like my 83...

before you tear everything apart, check your purge valve .. when they go bad you start to draw oil from the larger hose that's conencted to the oil filler neck, and into the vac line into the manifold.. the oil then starts to pool in behind your throttle body in the intake manifold causing you to smoke when you first start the car.. this can also cause some strange idling problems..
you can either replace the purge valve, or you can remove it completely, cap off the 2 smaller vac lines and put a small crankcase breather filter on the end of the larger one..

I have the oppisite problem. I only get smoke when my car is revved to around 4000 rpm's, but never at idle or below that point. I can't understand why. Compression is good.
