Martin I would tend to agree with you if the bitch would run right. Kevin Landers has been working on it trying to get the 3mm apex seals to seal up right. For some reason the rotary aviation seals just didn't work on my used housings.

They said they should work fine or better than fine in cars with good used housings.... Im fukin worried here...
even though they were atleast 50% cheaper than anyone else for the whole set of springs+seals, its still $200. All I know is that they look pretty good and a quick comparison to my old seals show they are pretty close, except of course for the wear... Plus these things are 2 piece, which I happen to like better.... Anyways hope everything works out.....

Yeah I called Kevin last night and he has it all worked out. So my car is ready now. what a si of relief. I just ordered a custom chopper that is being built in NC and I was joking with a friend about which one would be done first. But now I have to do the breakin, paint and body work, then its time to drop the Garrett GT35/40R on that bitch. I guess I am a sucker for custom built engines. I had Kevin build me one bad **** and I am having kendal Johnson build me a 124 ci S&S 3000+ cc engine putting 150hp & 150ftpt to the rear wheel with just a bolt on super G carb. Thats without tuning. Mated up with a 280mm rear tire should be one mean ground pounder

Not with the RA seals though...you're running atkins seals now. Using all the same housings, the engine was making 55psi before with RA seals...now it's making 95psi with atkins.
Hey people how you doing?? Anyways I just wanted to do a head count of all the turbo vert owners out there...
It seems that with the shrinking prices on turbo engines, that this swap is catching on rather fast.... Just wanted to know how many of you have actually turboed your vert, If you can also list drivetrain and your experience with the n/a rear end and trany.... If there was another thread about this then im sorry and mods go ahead and shut it down, no need to clutter the site more than it is.... So Ill start with me, Im using an s5 turboII motor with block off's on an s4, using my harness and modified injector clips, also using n/a drivetrain, with vmount IC untill I buy a smaller or larger IC to fit the front with out modifying.... An npr would do me good right now...
Thanks
Martin

I'm doing a Turbo swap to my vert. I found a local exporting company that is getting in 3 S5 13BT's with trannys, ECU's, harness's, and the engine is a long block. All for $750. I put 1/2 down on one of them, so that I can have my pick of the three when they come in. But the won't be to there wearhouse for 2 weeks
Why even bother with the RA seals, even if they will supposedly last longer once broken in. From what I gather, a rebuild with good housings and Atkins (softer) seals should last 75-100K on a properly maintained, un-abused motor. Who here has driven over 75K on their own motor?!?!

Right but the point is this motor was built by you Kev so the bitch is bullet proof. Landers is the Man **** the haters....

Impatient much?
Use whatever seals you want. I personally won't be using many of the RA seals, unless the rest of the engine gets all new parts as well...they didnt seem to react well to used housings (they were in very good shape, too...the engine should have been bad ***).

Well... fine. So I'll post mine. She's not fully running yet (tweaky stuff like I haven't put the hood back on to go tune her and ya know... I'm nervous. What can I say? Plus I'm moving into an apartment in a week or so, so I have very little time) but she's idled purring like a kitten and I know she'll do quite nicely now. Check the sig for the highlights. Check my Haltech Install Xanga for info on the Haltech. Check the link in my sig for my site.
