Turbo throttle body

I am turboing my 88 GXL and I was wondering if I could use a 1991 turbo throttle body on my car w/o any problems. B/c by doing this, I wouldnt need to do any welding by making the strawberry adapter plate. Any help is appreciated. Thankz...

bump... no thoughts?? All I need to know is if I can use the 91 throttle body on my intake, or do I have to make an adapter?

It's the same throttle body turned over and with the linkage turned the opposite way. It bolts right up.

Kewl... so if I were to get one it would eliminate the the need of making that strawberry plate... Too bad bidding just ending 2min ago. Oh well, I'm off to the junkyard first thing in the morning to find one.

You missed what he said. The NA and Turbo TB's are the same, just mounted differently. You don't need to change anything.

If you are turboing the car and using the NA manifold you will need to use the NA TB to avoid problems with the throttle cable. There would be no point to change it anyway. If you're going to use a TII manifold you'll want the TII TB and throttle cable.

Curious.....what are you trying to do? Have the throttle body opening facing to the left side of the car?

What's a strawberry adapter?

You can connect the intercooler pipe to the stock NA throttle body elbow if you want. Or you can modify a TII throttle body elbow. Or as I did, make your own adapter.

Yeah, that NA elbow comes in handy going either way.
