OK Turbo swap question

So im going to be doing an S5 N/a to an S5 T2 complete swap soon. my question is regarding the wiring. can the N/a engine harness be used for the swap. does it require modifying the harness at all.. if so in what way. would it be better to just buy a USDM T2 harness. keep in mind here that i'm trying to stay cost effective. also can the jdm harness be used. i know it is set up for right hand drive so would it just mean that i would have to splice wires to extend it or can i just relocate the ecu. anything you guys can tell me would help. and if some one has already addressed this just point me in the right direction.

In addition to searching, the s5 na harness will work fine. Make sure too that part of being cost effective, is buying from a reputable source to begin with. Japan2la or atkins only....or saving a whopping 500.00 on a "jdm" engine will cost you an additional 2 thousand for a rebuild (-1500.00=not cost effective)

S5 NA harness all the way. The 6PI and VDI solenoid plugs get used for the turbo duty solenoid and the knock sensor, the tps wires get extended, and that's basically it. You can get rid of the RHD harness.

Oh, and use a N370 ecu. The N374s have a reputation for not firing the rear primary injector when used with usdm harnesses.

so the 6PI and the VDI solenoid wires just plug right in??? no splicing no extending. and that portion of the harness just happens to connect to the correct pins on the turbo ecu. that would be great if that is the case. not to be rude but just out of curiosity have you done this particular swap before. i would like to get some info from some people that have done this using there original S5 N/a harness for there motor swap. again im not trying to come off as an ***. just had too many people i know say that they know what they are doing and just ended up full of ****. i lost my last car that way so im just trying to make sure i have reliable sources.

any ways. any other differences between the NA harness and the turbo harness. other than extending the TPS do any modifications have to be done to use my harness

^^^^I agree completely with wanting first hand experience. That is definately smart and respectable. What happened to your other car?

I offer no more advice from experience......i did this swap on an S4.

oh...hehe. i had a 95 miata. had the crank shaft redone and when i got the car back i was dumping 2 quarts of oil a day minimum in it. and i worked delivery at that point so that just didnt work well for me. when i got rid of the car the guy i sold it to said that a week later the oil pan blew out its gasket and he dumped all of the oil out on the highway.
