Turbo-ing a 91 automatic?

hey guys,
my friend just informed me that i can buy everything to make my car turbo for a really good price. the turbo, intake and exhaust manifolds, oil lines, intercooler (top mount), computer, hood, and a few things i may be forgetting. lol. but i was wanting to know if it matters that my car is an automatic. no hating, but is this possible? just curious b/c i think it would be fun if possible. if it is... what are some things i need to look out for, expect, and be cautious about. tuning... etc. thanks for your time.

Don't do it.
Even if you are able to keep the engine from killing itself, the automatic trans will surely break with even mild boost levels.

the transmission isnt going to be strong enough... for city driving, it would be fine, but if you floor it and let it shift at 7k alot... well....

do a manual swap, and make a very stable transmission mount first....

I ran about 250 WHP thru an automatic with a 13b-re with no problems well except that the trans acted wierd without the stock computer. Right before I put a T2 trans in I powerbraked a few times trying to brake the auto and nothing happened.

so the engine can take it right... the turbo add on. if so, then ill just try to go ahead and get the tranny from the guy, etc. yeah i want brackets welded in if an auto to manual swap is in play. not the chessy ghetto rigged ones. ugh. lol. if the engine can handle the turboing, then ill go ahead and get it. b/c the price is a steal. for everything. including the hood. so i was shocked. lol. thanks guys.

Ohh you didn't ask the right question, so you intend to bolt on all the manifolds from a t2 onto your 6 port?

If your not getting the T2 engine then no its not going to work for you without major custom re-engineering. I think everyone here assumed that you were planning to put a complete T2 engine into your auto FC.

If you want to try it then buy the following:

S5 Jspec longblock with auto transmission
T2 Hood
S5 T2 Pressure Sensor
S5 T2 ECU

which will probably run you $2K if you are lucky and it all works.

a buddy of mine is actually doing this swap. Its a pain to find an importer with a auto transmission still attached to the longblock.
