Turbo II Help Please!
Ok, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.. I've found an rx-7 TII (88 I think) that i want really bad but its been sitting for like 1 yr and a half to almost 2 yrs. Would I have to rebuild it? Where should I start? How would I look it over to work the price down? Thanks for any help!

What should I look for when buying a FC?
Non Turbo: http://www.aaroncake.net/RX-7/buy1.htm

General: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/h2b.html
These stickys need to be in a different color or something, so people can see them.

My advise would be to go check it out, drive it HARD, and then do a compression check ,etc..

It's logic...
If the car was sitting there for that long, of course you're going to insist to dropping the price - unless they are going to guarantee it runs 100% perfect???
$3,000 is fricken way too much for a car sitting there for over a year. Offer $1,000 as a starting point, and walk away if they don't want to bargain on the price. Cars sitting still can induce problems to bearings like the hubs, alternator, pulleys, etc., unless we're talking low humidity desert conditions.

That is my advice; walk away........1000 is a bit too low....have it checked out by a mechanic and subtract the repair costs off the original price.....once you get a sub total drop it a little bit more for body imperfections...and anything you can think of.

The price would be fair if everything works.
Pull the TID & check the turbo wear.
Compression check before starting it. Put some oil in the plug holes & spin it for 10 seconds first.
Check everything - all wiper functions, window switches, headlights, foglights, sunroof, cold start, tranny noise, clutch bite, brakes, tires, battery, boost gauge, alarm, any suspicious fixes, etc...
(That's just the short list)
Then deduct for what needs fixing.

Thanks you guys have been alot of help, but i looked at the car again and i really looked it over but the guy wasnt there to start it and drive it.. the sunroof is almost completely rusted out, but he's got a glass one to replace it for me, the passanger side has a good 2 inch dia. rust bubble and the front driver side has a dent like somone got him at like 5-10 mph..i got a donar car already for a 89-91 swap (302 rx-7 lol). also the guy says he's statred it a few times a month but i dont really believe it. I've herd about the ATF to start it but should i try starting it regularly first, and if that dont work do i put the ATF in all four spark plug holes or just the bottom 2 or the top? I'm definatly going to lower the price because a friend of mine looked at the a year ago and he wanted 3000 then so i think after almost 2 yrs its gonna drop. Thanks again for your help..
