Turbo Dissy
Has anyone ever taken a turbo II turbo apart apart? Is it possible. is it rebuilable.
I haven't seen anyone selling rebuild kits. The issue with mine if the rod that runs below the turbo and connects to the little valve thing. The valve is lose where it goes through the housing. It would seem quite the waste to have to get a whole new turbo just the little valve thing bushing has worn out.
If it is disassembleable (new word), what;s the best way to do it? I've looked in the FSM and it wasn't much help.

The following attachment covers a full turbo rebuild, but the wastegate flap is not covered because it's not a replaceable part. I've never heard or anyone fixing that problem. I'd suggest you take it to a turbo workshop and get their advice.
Check the for sale section; getting a replacement exhaust housing or a complete blown turbo might be cheaper and easier.
