i've been looking around at other turboed cars and i have seen some have the carb before the compesor it dosn't seem to be a good idea to run fuel thru the turbo and intercooler?

Yes there has been turbo carbureted cars. The only thing (not sure 100%) is the carb needs to be set up for a “blow through” style if you are going to put the turbo before the carb. Just for example there is a centrifugal supercharger kit from Paxton for the Shelby GT350 small block Mustangs. The supercharger blows through the carb. There is someone on TeamFC3S.org that has a turbo 13b in this style but I do not remember his name. But I believe he fabricated the kit himself so it is not something you can buy off the shelf. Search and ye-shal-find.

avantie made them from the factory. with a turbo/carb setup. its just like a round deck that sets on the carb and the turbo feeds into it.

Two ways to do it, blow through and draw through. Both work, draw through is easier though since the carb doesn't need to be modified. You do, however, need to use special (carbon) seals on the compressor side of your turbo.

Blow through has been done for many years, but is a "hack" and can be difficult to tune. Not sure if Holly makes a blow through kit for your carb, so I would check with them if you do...

Really, if you want to do this, I suggest putting the stock EFI or an aftermarket EFI system back on. EFI is MUCH MORE turbo friendly, not to mention more efficient, and generally worlds better then any carb...

You can't use an intercooler either.

Hey, that guy with the bridge port template wants $50 for it, interested?

I might pick it up since I have a motor on the way that needs a rebuild. I was planning on playing with it myself.

Let me know, give me a call or email me.

Thanks Izak, laters!!
