Which Turbo for 88 Turbo II
I am currently getting a street ported engine built. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions toward which type of turbo to use if i wanted to get anywhere from 15- 20 psi. My goal is from 300-350 rwhp. I am using the wolf 3D ems. Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

This is a pretty common question, a basic 'TO4' will get you to that power level
What are you looking to spend? You could go anywhere from a hybrid turbo to a full ball barring devided brand name turbo that will cost big $
I suggest searching the 2nd gen, single turbo and rotary performence forums and reading the FAQ's. They will most likly have the answers you are lookin for

Should get you 350-380+ whp at around 15 psi, depending on various factors.
A lot of FC guys use this turbo. Been around for a long time and works great.

Thanks guys for the response. I appreciate it. I am kinda of thinking about getting the upgraded turbo from HkS with turbo manifold. Does anyone have this setup or has anyone seend this setup. Thanks againg for the reply.
I think upgraded/hybrid turbos are a personal preference. For some that is enough, but if its not, then you need to start again.
I prefer the full turbo upgrade. Go full out right away. Yes it's $$$$$$$ but it's worth it in the end.

Well just to let you know the money you would spend on that HKS Turbo Kit would be around $3,000.00 to like maybe close to $4,000.00 dollars,and thats not including a EMS system what do you plan for fuel/ignition ? For the money you should go for a Garrret TO4E with a P-Trim Turbine wheel for $689.00. Then I would get a Exhaust Manifold like the HKS for $300.00. A Downpipe would run you another $150.00/$200.00. A wastegate would run you another $339.00 from Tial which is the 40mm one. Then you need a FMIC, you could go with a NPR for may $150.00/$200.00, custom piping mandrel bent out of aluminum another $250.00/$300.00. Then your gonna need a Blow Off Valve, I have the Greedy Type S which is good for 14 lbs of boost or less it costs around $180.00/$190.00,just the blow off valve it self, the blow off valve kit with the custom piping that connects to the stock IC costs more which you dont need cause your going with a FMIC set up. Now that takes care of the basics (The fundamentals)
. Now for Fuel I would go with the Aeromotive Fuel Pump which is like $450.00/$500.00 dollars which is the "Big Boy fuel pump" from them which supports 1,000 HP, thats a Bad A@$ Pump. Also your goona need 720'cc injectors in the primaries, and 1600'cc in the secondaries, the 720's are $95.00/$110.00 each you will need 2 of them, and the 1600"s are also like $100. something dollars each, you will need 2 of them also. Then your going to need a SX Fuel Pressure Regulator which is $150.00/$250.00 if im not mistaken. Your also going to need a SX/Aeromotive Liquid Crystal gauge to go along with you fuel Pressure regulator which is another $150.00/$180.00 if im not mistaken. Along with SS Braided Fuel lines with the nice AN fittings is more money (If you want to do it nice, and right" )
These fittings for the fuel, and oil alone will cost you a couple hundred dollars, along with the SS braided Fuel/Oil lines.Now the heart of the system, if you want to spend less money, and still get a EMS thats been tested, and proven on the Turbo II's that would be the MT LT8 which runs like $850.00/$890.00 Now installation, and tuning is another $500.00, if you do decide to go with the MT LT8 send me a PM, and I will tell you who in Florida will setup, and tune your car for that price, and he is a very knowledgable tuner with over 12 yrs of experience with the MT on Rotarys. Then if you would like for Ignition a MSD you will need 3 of them the 6A. Then do yourself a favor, and get some good spark plug wires like the Magnecor R-100/Racing Beat the RB are like $110.00, and the R-100's, are a little bit cheaper in price, but not quality at $70.00/80.00 for the set. Now I recommend a good quality Radiator like a Koyo or a Fluydine a $350.00/$450.00. Then a nice simple Boost Controler would be the Greddy Profec B Spec-II at $310.00/$320.00 "Wow" !!! this list is pretty long all in all, your going to spend well over $5,000.00 bucks. But your going to need also a good quality clutch to harnees the power which is another $350.00/$400.00 dollars. Well hopefully I didnt forget anything, but I think thats about it, if I missed anything gentelman please feel free to add to the list.

Just to let you know, yeah your gonna spend alot of money, but your going to get a Turbo thats BAD A$$, and with only 14-15 lbs of boost you should put out at least 350-400 RWHP which is good for mid to high 11's 1/4 miles. I know cause my friend with a Turbo II, with a 60-1, using a Holley Carb with a Blow Through Box ran those times 11:70's putting down 375 RWHP. Also for your personal info, I dont think there is no way that HKS Turbo Kit for the Turbo II is going to get you the nubers I just mentioned, that Turbo is very limited compared to a nice custom 60-1/60-2 set-up. Question -Can I upgrade my TURBO II using a HYBRID T3/T4 and not worry about making any additional changes purchase of parts etc? I'm looking to increase boost an additional 50 HP. I've heard you can trade-off the stock turbo for a T3/T4 hybrid without any further mods... How true is this? Anyone? anyone?
The Mitsubishi TD06 kit by GReddy is not as efficient at low boost as most of the Garrett offerings, but it compares close to the T04S04/TS04/T04S turbo. 400hp is not unheard of from them.
