Ok I just came back from trying to get rid of some exhaust leaks around the right muffler. I did five runs like before here goes:

Run# 1-----------------Run# 2
ET 16.97 ET 16.85
MPH 84.7 MPH 85.2

Run# 3-----------------Run # 4
ET 17.22 ET 17.08
MPH 83.3 MPH 84.3

Run # 5
ET 16.99
MPH 84.3

AVG. ET= 17.01 AVG MPH= 84.43

I definately felt the power increase over the race piped exhaust. Oh Man.! If things turn up economically for me I want to go to the thrack with it and compare against the G-tech.

Just build a block off plate and remove one of your mufflers, that oughta do it. Ya cheap mooch!

Almost a 1.5 second drop in the 1/4 by using the duals. Even though runs weren't 100% scientifically accurate, that's still a solid increase in performance.

i had done a number of gtech tests on my car stock and modded. when i first started out with stuck 5th and 6th intake i had a 9.1 second 0 to 60. when i got my car working good and running as perfect as could be still stock i ran a highest of a 8.1 0 to 60. with a catback, race pipe, stock exhaust manifold, intake, and a msd ignition i would average a 6.4 to 6.7 0 to 60 and thats with a crappy, slipping, stock clutch. though i dont believe the gtech numbers too much and i didnt have a place in the city to do 1/4 mile runs they are probably a bit off however i made all these runs around the same temperature in the colder months and at the same stretch of road. i was pretty impressed with the numbers i got from just improving the exhaust so your 1/4 mile times may not be correct but they show the same type of increases just from exhaust.

Yeah the G-tech does have error in it. But it provides a good comparison in any case. I think I hurt my alternator belt yesterday because today it broke! So yeah I started to see the temp guage climb and I shut down ASAP and pulled onto a side street. Sure enough the thing was boiling the coolant. Good thing I noticed it before it got to the H Took me 30 minutes to replace the belt and add coolant. Oh well

I know you guys don't believe a couple of little gyros inside a box can be very accurate, but keep in mind aircraft use the same setups (gyros in a medium-sized black box) to perform navigational duties with uncanny accuracy...I think the last time I read the stats on the g-tech the error given was +/- 3 horses, & +/- 1/10 sec in the 1/4 mile, that's pretty impressive...

Yeah given that my Sport ran a 16.2 I don't think a 17 is that far fetched for it being the only mod on the car as of yet.

Maybe i'll just buy a collected header and have a 2.5" exhaust made out. I'm interested to see what goes on there.

My GTUs ran 15.2 on a g-tech with just 2.5" to two straight-through mufflers, completely stock otherwise. Damn you needa learn how to shift!

Those are some pretty serious increases. I like the G-tech, it's a very nice tool. Even if it doesn't give a perfect number to what the traps would give, it still shows the difference...and that's all that matters.

has anyone else run 0 to 60 numbers, i was pretty impressed that i could run mid to high 6 second runs without headers or any other major mods just intake, no cats and a msd box, i did this in more than one state at different altitudes. many will say 0 to 60 doesnt mean much but id say in houston its basicly all you can do b/c there are not many places i drive where i can really go over 60mph for very long. i dont drag my car all the time but sometimes someone wants to run a little bit so i have a little fun but basicly just use my car to get around in, sort of quickly.

True duals move the powerband up, they really don't net any power gains on top of the standard RB header/racepipe/catback exhaust.
