troubo turbo troubo 2
hey all,
I recently got an 88 turbo 2, low mileage, and in pretty good shape. I have owned several rx's since the mid 80's.. the turbo, my first, is definately a busier system.
My question is about the bac valve. When I turn on the ignition, the valve makes a buzzing rattling click.
So I know its working, but why would it sound before I even crank the engine?
I did the ohms test,and then pulled it off the car.
I did a simple 12v test, applied voltage and watched the solenoid pushtype plunger move back and forth with a nice healthy click 12v- forward, 0v back..
So it seems to be working fine. It does not rattle or keep vibrating with 12 v applied{ off the car on my kitchen table}
I pulled my bac from my 88 gxl, I know that one works great. When I apply 12v { off the car} the same thing happens click and the plunger moves
When I plugged it into the turbo bac connector,{on the car} it does not click or vibrate, however it does when the car is started,etc. so I know it works fine and the power{ square wave input signal is good}
question- is this normal for the turbo BAC to be clicking vibrating when the ignition is on{ not started}
maybe it helps with the warmup sequence?
I dont know
