Tried finding my leak...
Since the other thread was closed, I started a new one...
I Tried finding the leak... At first I thought it was the intake manifold, around that area, but I tried it again the next morning and it didn't seem to do much... I sprayed around the intake filter (not on it, don't worry) and saw that the intake tube was kinda falling off...
Anyways, I fixed it to where it was firmly in place correctly, and the idle didn't smoothen out.. I saw a plastic screw next to the intake, so while the engine was on, I screwed it all the way in, and then out a little, and the idle seemed to correct itself at 750rpm while it was in.
Came home after driving it for 5 miles, and in the garage, it was now idling at a constant 1650rpm...
I tried to unscrew the same screw this time to see if I could lower it by unscrewing it this time, and now the dang screw is all jacked up and I can't grab ahold of it... anyone know of any ideas how to get this screw out? (It must have been melted and really soft after the engine got hot since it was plastic)
Any ideas would be appreciated... thanks. I'm currently continuing my search for a mechanic in Oklahoma, somewhere near OKC -- PM me if you're nearby!

oh, also, you dont just want to check the intake manifold joins for leaks... there are lots of vacume hoses all around the engine, any of these could have poped off or gotten a tear in the... you have to check them all
also, i would recomend getting some electronic connection cleaner and going thru and disconnecting every plug, cleaning it, and putting it back together... takes a while but is good maintenance

Oh, and, please, before going around like that and screwing/unscrewing things,
please READ and on your engine.
You NEED to know what is what and what the hell it is doing.
How can you expect to fix something if you do not even know how it works ?
You just might as well make it worst ...
Check in a manual like Haynes or the FSM.
The troubleshooting procedures are easy to follow and well detailed.
Commonsense is all you need.
Here is a link to a online version of the FSM,
go check it out NOW! http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/2nd_gen_manuals.htm
Good luck.

I was took my stock airbox apart last nite to see if the cold air box pieces I made would fit... I dont remember seeing that on the AFM (think thats what it is called). Also it looks like it is upside, not sure if it matters but I believe it is mounted the other way to bolt onto the stock airbox.

Checked the manual, and the only thing I could see is that it was the air flow sensor, but the line wasn't connected directly to that, it was connected to the connection right in front of it...

i highly suggest that go and do some basic research to get to know your car. for example look in the haynes manual and learn what everything under the hood is for starters. i dont know how you can expect to fix anything, if you dont know what youre looking for. i dont mean to flame you or anything, i just think it would help. i had no prior knowledge (i mean non) about my car when i got it, but doing some basic reading and researching in books and websites has helped me a great deal. hope you can fix your problem.
