Try changing the gear oil to redline MT-90.

It will take about a 100 miles for the redline to work its way in, but that should help the bad syncro

Are you trying to shift quick? If you slow your shifting does it go away? If so then its probably the synchro, sounds like it is. Mine grinds when I keep it below 4k for breakin but shift fast. Good thing the replacement is on the way.

Royal Purple I believe is what your thinking of. I've heard good things about Neo tranny fluid too on this forum.

to replace the syncro is to rebuild the whole tranny esentially... that can cost alot....

i would first try using redline oil in it as that might give you some more life out of it before it becomes worse.

Shifting too fast OR too slow would usually make a bad synchro grind the gears. Just try to learn how to match your gears better on up and downshifts. That, combined with some of the other suggestions (the synthetic gear oil) should clear up a lot of your problems.

Unless youv rebuilt a manual transmission before I wouldnt suggest doing it. Special tools are required and you cannot disassemble certain gears without these special tools. Its more complicated than you would think...I've done it. If you want to rebuild the tranny have a transmission specialist do it. Of course that wont be cheap. If you want cheap get a used tranny. Either way youll have to remove the tranny which isnt a big deal. Also suggest replacing the pilot bearing while its removed, but your call. Good luck.
