I need to find the 5th gear/reverse connector , sensor what ever it is that goes into the transmission...

I cant seem to find it on mazdatrix.com can someone tell me what its called and how much it costs, and also i need a link cause i want to buy it. I need it

I CALLED mazdatrix they said they dont carry it so im going to hit up the dealer for it.

But man, no one even know whats its called or mentioned it . Just weird to me..taht nobody has an answer on it. Not even a comment on the problem why my car doesnt go in reverse.

I was wondering why you even wanted to replace it...I thought that switch's sole purpose was to tell the shift indicator light NOT to come on.

I thought you could just remove the defective switch, plug the hole in the transmission, and jump the connector.(?)

 

that switch does NOTHING to enable or disable your reverse

Mazdatrix is not a dealer. If you visit a local dealer, they can pull up the parts catalog and get you the part.

It's a switch and we can't read your mind (car won't go into reverse was not mentioned in your thread).

In fact, outside of you saying you want a switch, we've no idea what the problem with the car is.

 

I took mine out trying to get it to work again. The plunger in the switch jammed up halfway in and it got stuck. My car would not go into reverse until I forced it. Then it worked fine. If you took it out the plunger in the switch might be getting stuck.... Get a new one

 

question on reverse switch.... ive just pulled mine out as the previous owner decided to wire up different wires, so unsure which wires do what, are the wires a certain polarity or does it not matter which wire goes on which terminal??
