Tranny Question..Not Sure If This Is Good Or Bad!?!?

Ok, I changed my tranny fluid about 2 weeks ago. The feel has been much better, but still not perfect. My 2nd and 3rd synchros are going, I assumed. Anyway, as I was driving today, I got pissed at the shifter, and did a hard shift into second, slamming the shifter back. It popped, pretty loud. Now my shifting has never been better! The shifter moves so smoothly through the gears, and I never even feel the synchros! I am thinking I may have bumped one of the return springs, as they are the culprit of my poor shifting I now assume, if not the synchros. Any ideas? I am a little leery, b/c my shifter feels like new! I hardly recognize my car!

I like the "new" feel, I just don't really trust it!

I can do smart ***....
Don't beat your stick so hard, something is bound to break.
Maybe you bent your synchro back into shape? God knows. I wouldn't bitch about a problem going away though.
Nice work. Now see if you can restore compression by hitting the block with a sledge hammer.

Maybe you broke the center position spring in the shifter or a bushing, and instead of the shifter being tight its now broken

Well I looked. The springs are a ok, and the bushings are fine. Looks like I bent one of the springs back though. When I put in the new shifter bushings in, the springs were in the way. Tehy looked off or something. I assume all is well!!!

I spend $1000 on a tranny rebuild and you fix it by bangin' gears? Goddamn...

You're hired, Stud-Boy.
