trailing coil

ok ebfore i begin i have searched this and have come up with nothing.

my car is a s4 na

my car has skipping lately but only between 2k and 3k and some times at 7k and my tach does not work inthe dash

i have checked the spark and at first i found that my #2 trailng coil was dead that would explain why the tach was not working.

but while checking the spark i found that both tailing coils would stop fireing at random

so i got out the timing light and tried to check the timing useing the trailing coil and they the #1 trailing coil was firng at idle but when i gave it gas the light would flicker and cut out

so i replaced the trailing coil that was not firing and it did not help at all

so i brought a low mileage trailing coil pack (S4) and pluged it in and i stil have the skipping problem

so where should i look next the ecu or ESPS (ecentic shaft position sensor)

thats for the help guys in advance

also would the s5 trailing coils plug right in
and if it is my ecu which one could i get

and the FSM section called CONTROL UNIT has the values for the wires that run b/t the ECU and the Trail coil assy.

update i think i may of found it i was driving today and happen to look at my safc and the throttle singal was fluttering between 100% and 87% but i was off of the tps buttion even near redline it would do this does this mean my tps is not grounding right or the tps is bad their are no dead spots in it and when i turned it off and started it back up the tps was fine
but why would this make the trailing misfire

REMOVE the SAFC from pin 1X and drive the car.

Like the FSM in the CONTROL UNIT section says, the 1X is tied to the Trail coil. It's an output from the ECU to the trail coil assy and is the timing signal. The signal that causes the ignitor to fire. I'm suggesting there is something amiss with the wiring b/t the SAFC and 1X or a bad solder connection or ????? got me....with 1X. Ain't the ECU but the wiring/solder/whatever.
