Trailer hitch on a vert?

To start with, I only plan to tow about 700 pounds. (Small trailer with motorcycle.)

The Curt 11603 says it's made for 87-91 RX-7s but I know that the vert frames are beefed up a little. I assume that the rear where the hitch bolts up is the same as a hardtop but wanted to check before ordering a hitch.

Anybody here ever installed an 11603 on a vert?

it bolts through the spare tire holder and through the rear tow hooks... I didn't think convertibles had that spare tire compartment the spare is underneath the top isn't it?

That's awesome! Good luck with the motorcycle trailer!

My buddy with an FB has a THULE roof rack setup, 5.3L Vortec V8 and he's going to get a trailer hitch installed. Then he's making a trailer out of spare FB wheels and an axle to tow his racing stuff up to the track. It'll be like his track car and tow truck all in one!

Spare tire is mounted under a cover inside behind the front seats. The original spare tire spot is still present, vertical and upright in the same place as the coupe.

the one that i have looks nothing like the one above, it bolts to the 4 bolts on each side were the tow hooks are.. you remove the tow hooks to put the hitch in.. it also has chain loops built in, and doesnt mess with the spare tire well(which is thin and seems unlikely strong)
