Question Too Loud?

Is anyone running true duals on their 13B n/a with the cats removed and silencer or straight through type mufflers. Is it too loud for street use?

well my guess is that is gona be hella loud few reasons...

1 no cats = hella flames
2 the true duals are supposed to be loud enough as it is.
3 rx7s are loud as hell with straght pipes and you setup sounds pretty close to that

I think that I am going to have a pipe fabricated to bolt in where the main cat bolts in and that way I have the choice of which way I run... Thanks for the input... Any more advice is definately welcomed...

i've got a racing beat 2.5" n/a downpipe into their presilencer and then into a corksport cat-back (might as well be a straight pipe haha) and its loud but not unbearable. its pretty buzzy at highway speeds but i mean, i lived with it for 5 hours all the way from charlotte to atlanta and it didnt bother me too bad. i think if i had a better sound system it would've helped drown it out. so far as it being too loud for the streets, i have yet to be hassled or even really payed any attention to by any cops though it does set off multiple car alarms every time i go into a parking lot. i like it though, nice a deep

I just put a true dual exhaust on today lol. It was rigged like **** though I got it from the previous owner. Its an RB header with testpipes going to 2 presilencers down to some wierd looking mufflers. They almost look like stock, but they have this ring around them with holes. Had to bend some piping because it was hitting the rear tire, looked like a nice restriction, hahaha. Its really not that fckin loud, I personally love the sound. I can see it getting annoying when cruising though, although you can keep it quiet if you want to. No flames either.

RB true duals will be very nice sounding. They are loud if you always romp on it. If you are able to exibit some self control over throttle you can make it very livable. I have the old MT True duals and they rock.

If you are going to use peice of **** mufflers and silencers then forget it anything that is made with cheap **** will sound like *** collected or not.

My setup:

Stock with the cats replaced with a test pipe.

I don't find it that bad. I don't have a radio so it's not like the sound interferes with anything. It's still a lot quieter than all the shitty Civics with fart cans.

now im running six-port half bridge, RB collected header straight pipe to two cheapo glass packs with 3in outlet. its loud.

i live in florida so i really dont get picked on much by cops. but daily i have to use 1.5in outlet silencers, and that **** is still loud. with the silencers, people think im riding a harley when i go into building. but on the weekends, when i take the silencers out.... forget about it.

if you dont run a cat, atleast get baffled or reverse flow mufflers cause straight-thrus will kill you hearing. seriously, my hearing is dull after racing around with open mufflers.

My A'PEXi GT with cats was louder than my RB true duals w/o cats. I think we should record idle and 0-60 WOT exhaust sounds and post setups/audio to the exhaust page so people know what the hell we're talking about. It's ridiculous trying to explain in words what an exhaust sounds like, no? I’ll do it for my RB (I only have an idle clip for the GT), and if you get a good recording, send me audio or video with audio and tell me what your setup is.
