Tokico blue HP rear shocks top shaft nut issue
Tokico blue HP rear shocks top shaft nut issue
Looking for anyone else who has installed Tokico Blue HP rear shocks. I was wondering about the top shaft nut. It has like this wax stuff on the top so it won't go all the way down, it only goes down a bit but not all the way too the top mount, is this normal?

That's a self locking nut and is supposed to be difficult to spin on/off.
See that black dics that the strut threads is going thru???? Say yes.
See the two holes in that piece???? Yes.
You need to make a tool to hold that black disk using those two holes. You hold that disk and then tighten the nut.
Did I say ALTERNATE WAY??? Yes. Take the self locking nut off and down to the auto store/where ever. Buy four nuts that are not self locking (same thread size, please). Now you can spin those on with your wrench. Tighten the lower one down first (snug), the the second one on top of that one to lock the lower one in place.
You bought four. Use the other two on the other strut in the same fashion.
Have the total weight of the car on the tires when you do this so the whole mess will be compressed so to speak.
By the way, while I'm here, I've a set of Tokico Blues and Eibach springs, all four that I'm letting go dirt cheap for anybody in the Ft Worth area. I do not ship and don't even remotely ever think about shipping for dirt cheap prices. Parts hardly used. Non adjustable Blues. Springs made out of real metal. Will deliver if it's an easy to find area and does not inconvienence me at all. Cash only. USA money. No checks. No Visa, No Master Card. No IOU nor half cash now and "I'll pay you the rest later" deals.
