Tii specs

What should the compression be on an s4 tii motor?? I know that forced induction is a lower compression motor.... so what should it be at, I am looking to buy one but don't know what is good and bad on a turbo moter.

Before buying a car, read all three (including the non-turbo) buying guide links in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) thread on this subforum.

The proper procedure for a compression check is in Chapter 1 of the Factory Service Manual (FSM), which is also in the FAQ. In lieu of the expensive Mazda compression check equipment, you can use a standard gauge by holding down the valve button or removing the valve, and then watching the gauge bobble between the three rotor faces.

I already have a car........ I know how to do a compression test....... I don't know what the Turbo motors should be sitting at when I am looking for a used motor.

How is the ability to have a compression test done relavant to what the results of the test should be in a strong motor???? I asked what the compression should be at. Not trying to cause any hard feelings just trying to get my question answered.... Which is " what should the compression be at" not " how do i do a compression test?" I appreciate your input but don't come at me like that when I am just trying to find information that you didn't provide me.

Actually, in the first reply to your thread (had you clicked it and spent the 2 minutes to find it) your question was answered... Just sayin'.

Readings between front and rear rotors should be pretty close; the Mazda tolerance is around 20psi between front and rear rotors. "Good" engines should be able to hit around the 100psi mark. Anything lower than 70psi is indicative of a tired engine that needs a rebuild.

At this point in time....

1. If you read through the information, you really DO know how to perform a compression check.
2. You know to check the FAQ on this forum to find most of the information that you need.
3. You know that there is an online FSM available.

Congratulations, you have officially shed your ignorant noob status.
