Turbo Inlet Duct, only aplies for turbo's. Consists of using PCV pipes and couplings, usally found at Home Depote or other hardware stores, to replace the stock restrictive TID

although ABS piping is a better choice than PVC (black and white, respectively), but metal piping is even better

Don't use those rubber connectors for plumbing though. Once you start drawing air from the engine-bay you'll want to put up some kind of barrier to keep the hot air out of it too. I saw significant drops in my intake temps after I set mine up.

There is nothing wrong with using rubber connectors over silicon

weld yourself one. It only takes like 15 mins and it is much nicer than having some ****** plumbers pipe in your engine bay.

Of course, while the metal looks all shiney and pretty, it soaks up the heat a LOT more then plastic. There is a reason Mazda made the original one out of plastic.

There is nothing wrong with using the rubber plumbing couplers. They are designed for severe duty (think about it).

...or you could do what I did...

2.5in' -> 3in' rubber from turbo -> AFM
then some more 3in' rubber pipe from the AFM to the air filter..
Works awesome.
Cheap too.
