Throttle cable keeps streching

I have an s4 motor set with deleted emissions. The problem I have is when I adjust the idle with the cable at 850 rpm over time it will stretch and lower my rpms. Do anyone eles has this problem?? And is the s5 cable more stronger then s4 or the same?
I want to know if there a stronger cable I can use also.
Thanks

You shouldn't have to set the idle with the throttle cable anyway. Did you keep your BAC? Also what kind of time frame are you talking about? Are you at least setting the idle when the car is warmed up?

The cable should actually have slack. Why are you setting idle with the cable?

I do not know much about S4's, but isn't there an idle adjust screw somewhere?

Idle adjustment screw is on top of the throttle body. Throttle cable needs to have slack. If you have a TII engine, and removed the BAC your screwed since the adjustment screw is on it.

I guess he could adjust the plate stop screws for the primary plate, but god I wouldn't want to be the one doing that!

Yea I deleted the bac valve. Na s4 motor. Yea I will loosen the cable more my goal for idle Is 850. Right now my throttle body sticks it at 1500. I play around with the top adjustment screw it idles fine but when I gas it idles at 500.

Sometimes carbon buildup and other gunk could cause the throttle linkage to stick. Perhaps some carb cleaner or something similar could be used to remove this residue and allow for better throttle linkage movement. Just a thought.

loosen the throttle cable so that there is 1-3mm of free play. Then first try opening up the air adjusting screw on top of the manifold. Make sure you have jumpered the initial set connector when you do this (see FSM idle set procedure).

Kool thanks for all the info. I adjusted the idle again the smoothest it gets is 600-700 I set the tps ohms at 1k. the air adjustment screw is max out going up now. Air fuel ratio screw is half. Idk it's runs fine but idles at 600-650 when idling.

only way to get a higher idle then is to remove the throttle body and adjust the primary throttle stop screw on the backside of the throttle body.

why do people feel the need to remove everything on their n/a cars anyways? it just ***** with everything for a net gain of 0.
