Is there a way to....
Is there a way to disable the shift buzzer or move it up again without disabling the low oil buzzer at the same time? They must feed off different wires. I don't mind the low oil buzzer, but for some half retarded reason the previous owner of my RX7 has the shift buzzer set to 6,200 rpm instead of 8,000+. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

My buddies untouched 87 starts to buzz at 8,000 rpm. Mine starts to buzz at 6,200 rpm, which annoys the all holy heck out of me because I get on the highway turning ~7,000 in it.

Yeah. I've put oil in mine ONCE since I got it (about 2,200 miles ago/2 months ago).
What originally sparked my interest in replacing the buzzer with a shift light was this:

And since I've never done it before on an RX7, how would I go about doing that? I've only wired them into piston driven engines via the distributor.

goto radio shack or an auto parts store and get a LED pod that can handle 12v dc. ok take your cluster out. there are light bulb holders made by toshiba on the back remove the one labeled SHIFT its beside the one named BEAM. solder leads to the copper contact points . run them to the LED pod. put the cluster back in the dash. you will have the same "after market" looking shift light . and then you can tell all your friends you did it yourself
