Tein S.Tech's Rubbing..

Well, went to install a set of tein s.tech lowering springs and I got the front drivers side on but when I put the tire back on to put the lug nuts back on it hit up against the tire.

I am running the 205/55R16's which is the exact size the sticker on the inside of the door says to use.

I don't have any spacers so unsure if that is the problem but didn't notice anybody else having to use spacers.

Any ideas?

Mike

What size drop did you get? I got the 1.5 in drop tein's and all my tires fit fine.

Yeah, it's the 1.5

Might try again tomorrow just to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong but before I even took the car off the jack they were already up against each other.

I did search on the subject but most threads died off before getting any answers.

my 205/50/16 wheels dont rub at all and i got tein type-s 1.5 drop and the same thing with my 205/60/15. but in my sig down below im running 225/55/16 and they rub like a mother but my tires are shot so i dont care. when you put your tires on it feels real close like the tires are touching but put the wheels on anyways and drive around the block, then take you wheel off and see for sure if it was rubbing.

ive got the same size tire and springs and no rubbing here. im also running vert rims. the only problem i have with these springs is that on my car it seems like more than 1.5 inch drop. i hit a lot things with the front bumper.

you wont come near the rear sporings you can put 225' on and not worry about a thing. its the front springs you should worry about. with 205's you will have no problem.

Would it matter being turbo or non-turbo?

I know on teins site they have a model number for non-turbo. I wouldn't see why the difference but just wanna check.

No but you're running a 55 series tire. Try a 50 series cause it's lower and might not pudge out as much. Or just get some small spacers cause the rubbing should be very minor.
