Using a T2 throwout bearing in NA

is it possible, and is the T2 throwout bearing stronger?

Yes it will. I hear everytime you do any clutch flywheel work they suggest you replace the pilot and throwout. And the T2 will work. I suppose the reason they say is because its made to handle a bitmore power.

correct me if i'm wrong (Icemark or anyone else)

but i really dont think theres a difference in the bearings (if they are interchangeable) from n/a to tii.

specifying a n/a or tii tranny probably points to the same stock number of the bearings..

Well, the bearings fit in the e-shaft, and I believe all 13B (86-92) e-shafts are the same. Mazda trix sells the p-bearing for ALL..I'm assuming thats from 74-95, 12A and 13B..

mazdatrix definately recomends using the t2 ones so I imagine they are a bit sturdier than the n/a ones.

The pilot bearing is the one that fits in the end of the e-shaft that the input shaft for the tranny rides in. It is the same for all models.

The throwout bearing is the one that rides against the pressure plate that applies pressure to the pressure plate when the clutch is depressed. I've heard that the T2 piece is an upgrade as well but when I looked through my 89-90 microfiche the same part number was listed for NA and T2. Maybe they were standardized for the S5s? Dunno?

Little further research shows that Mazdatrix lists the same part numbers for both turbo and NA models of like years. Their number for the S5s is a different number than what is given on the Mazda Microfiche however. The Mazda translation of the Mazdatrix part numbers are:

F853-16-510 86-88
G561-16-510B 89-92

Now the 3rd Gen bearing is different. Is that what we're talking about?
