Wait...you've owned multiple FCs, but don't know where the starter is? C'mon now; it's on the transmission bell housing. I also wouldn't buy any car that I couldn't compression test either, so you'll want to install a starter to do that. The oil line can wait.

hahahaha...I busted out laughing as I read this...only on RX7club...

No such thing as an 86 T2 though, unless its a swap. And I doubt it needs just an oil cooler line lol...its likely that it started leaking and the engine could've been starved from oil. The starters never go bad on these cars...it is VERY unlikely. Maybe theres another problem with the car hes not telling you about...

And an SAFC is not necessarily a good thing...if the guy doesn't know how to tune it the car could have been running like ****. I'd pass unless its a good deal. And yes the starter is two bolts (well three if you count the terminal) and one connector. Very easy to change.

Is this the pink one in Sac? If so, it's been on craigslist for ever. Just a thought about buying used cars. If the fix is so easy, why wouldn't the 'knowledgeable' owner take the time to fix it and get more money for the car. And you can't even test the motor in that condition. Keep looking.

I've had two fail on two different cars, a turbo and a non turbo. And my friend had his starter fail on his FD. Maybe you are just lucky.

Anyway, ragged out cars and inexperienced owners are a bad combination.

In my experience, oil cooler lines don't slowly leak... they just pop and bam time to replace (happened twice to me NA and TII). Racingbeat has them for cheap.

What kind of laptop are you trading? Even if the engine is blown it is probably worth more than the laptop. Heck the SAFC II is probably worth more. I say trade it.

Worse case just part the car out and make more than your laptop.... unless its like a 3 thousand dollar laptop.

The oil cooler lines are notorious for leaking. Both of my cars had leaky stock lines, and the set of lines I had rebuilt years ago for my vert also began leaking a few months back. It's not that they can't just burst on you, but I've seen a lot of FCs with them leaking. I've also had the original starter die on my vert after maybe 140k miles.

what laptop are you giving? is it a mac? hell no if it's a mac, its worth more than the car probably lololololol. anyways check the compression of the car bro, and inspect the chassis, i wouldn't trade my TII or any other rx7 for a laptop unless it was a completely piece of crap fu**** up car. or for a hell of a laptop lol.
