T2 help..........not starting

Okay so heres the deal........on my way back to work today on my lunch my car started to chug along. So I slowed down and coasted for awhile. Then it drove fine the rest of the way to work. When it was time to leave work tonight I started it up and let it idle up to normal temp. Once it was warm I started to leave, as I turned to leave it started to chug again. Then it died and hasnt started since. I pushed it back into the garage at work and pulled all the plugs and cleaned them all thinking maybe the plugs were fouled. Went to start it and it kinda seemed like maybe it didnt have spark.

Thats where it sits now at work. I am going in tomorrow to test for spark. I have a MSD pack on the leading coil and I am thinking maybe that has gone bad, and with that going bad has caused the coil itself to go bad. I dont really know what else it might be. I did get gas today (93 octane) maybe the gas is bad?

I appreciate and other thoughts or ideas because I (supposed) to goto Lansing this weekend for the annual Michigan Rotary meet.

You guys get flooded up there with the rest of the east coast? Water in the gas sounds reasonable, if so...

Only way to tell for sure is to drain some gas from the tank and look for the "tell-tell" water globules at the bottom of the container. Or pull the pump & look down the tank with a flashlight...

Well I have never looked at gas before so I wont really know what I am looking at if I do drain it. Plus with the 2 cycle oil in there that may make things more difficult. ( I dont really know)

What should I be looking for if I pull the pump out?

You can't mistake water in fuel- it'll look kind of like an air bubble, but it will be "floating" on the bottom. Given enough time, it will always coagulate at the lowest point of the fuel system, making one big "bubble"...

Water and gas don't mix basically. Ever seen those wave things? You'll see them in Wal-Mart or something rocking back and forth in a little plastic container. Same concept .

Or you could just get a glass of water, pour some oil in and watch what it does .

Would be kinda hard to see the water below the oil in a coffee can, though, wouldn't it?

Test for spark first, if that tests out okay, simply pull the feed line off the fuel pump inlet and see if you have fuel pressure.

Well after testing for voltage, I looked in the fuse box under the hood and to my suprise my EGI fuse was blown. Now I have to trace down why the hell that went. Looking for grounded out wires is about as fun as trying to explain how my engine works to the guys behind the counter at the local parts store.

Has anyone ever just had a fuse blow without being able to find any grounded out wires. The only thing that could blow a fuse would be to much current draw. But........I dont know how a fuse would of gotten weak(I mean it seems like otherwise it would of blown along time ago) Anyone have any ideas?

It's an 89? That makes the fuse roughly 15 years old.
