surging/bucking!!
ok my car is acting very funny. It is a 1987 with a 89 motor and turbo.I swapped manifolds because one of my 89s had a crack in the lower. so a friend of mine swapped 2 87 intake manifolds for my 89s. I also did about all the block offs(omp, egr, vaccum lines etc.) when I got the car back it started doing annoying stuff. when u give it partial throttle.(like crusing). it surges and bucks like a bitch. but when u give it enough gas to get in boost it clears up. I checked the tps with a meter. and got it to go to 1 ohm on closed throttle. but when I opened it up to full it went like like almost 9 i think. so I unplugged it and drove it down the road to see if something would change and it did the same. what all can be causing this annoying bucking!!?? tps?? what else? what swapping manifolds do this if everything is blocked off and accounted for?

Hey man, good luck with that ****.
Another thing I ment to mention was to check for a vac leak/boost leak. That could cause the AFM to get a little funky and wonder what the hell's going on and buck a little.

On my 87se, the surging and bucking would happen when I set the TPS at the lowest resistance I could get it at. Since it was a bad TPS the surging/bucking were making the car undriveable. Unplugging it didn't help either. Before getting a new TPS, I tried to set the TPS back where it was before I adjusted it. It stopped bucking, but then ran super rich.

Just set the screw looser until it stops bucking like a bull. Then get a TPS replacement quick because your mileage will be extremely low (~10mpg)
S5 turbo and non-turbo TPS are the same.
The S4 uses a totally different TPS.

Damn we looked at S4N/A TPS and S4TII TPS the wires were the same, the mount was the same, and the plugs were the same. The book mentions no difference in resistance values, so wheres the difference?

Oh man, doh!
The block in his car is an S5 with an S5 turbo on the side of it. All the other junk about it is S4 (TPS included). Sorry for the misconception.
