Surging/bucking solved by adjusting the TPS

I had a rather annoying surging/bucking with a light throttle in the 2800-3400 range. It was especially bothersome in 2nd & 3rd gear in around town traffic. After searching though the forum threads, I determined I needed to adjust the TPS. I followed the factory procedure as noted here;

http://www.johnr.com/tps.html

I can't believe how much of a difference this make! The engine run so much smoother, with improved starting and idle characteristics as well.

I did not think adjusting the TPS was all that difficult or troublesome either. It only took me about 20 minutes to complete the task and that included the time to make the grounding lead for the test connector and putting away the tools. Of course I have been working on cars for about 35-40 years now and didn't think that the complete rebuild of the front and rear suspension was all that difficult either

Of course YMMV.

FC throttle sensors are weird like that. ECU depends on it a lot apparently, otherwise the damn thing will surge all over the place. I usually (would, not anymore since I have a standalone now) set the idle, timing, TPS, idle, timing, tps, and so on until everything locked in. Like having a whole new car after tweaking all the adjustments.

swapped my motor in this replacement car. a lot of issues with idle going from s4 block with s5 intake. took an hr fine tuning my idle, rpm, and tps back and forth.
Check this out, im very happy.
