super stiff steering while parked?

Ok my steering wheel is really falling apart and i know it is because when you have to turn the wheel to the curb it's so freakin hard, i was looking at the dust boot for the steering column shaft and it has a hole on it there is also a hole on the steering gear dust boot would it make turning smoother and easier if i greased it up and replace the boots?

The p/s is on the driver side. next to the sparkplugs almost. there should be 2 pumps..a/c and p/s, i forget which one is on the top or bottom though

Umm... no, there is about a good 2-3inches of room above the winshield fluid filler and the bonnet.. So I don't think you could fit an entire P/S system there...

Have a look at your steering rack, are there lots of little metal lines running to it?

If it has 4 lug wheels, its a base and You Don't have power steering, get used to the wheel being hard to turn when the car is not moving or moving slowly.
