sounds like you need to clean the tracks, or the tracks may be bent, but i have a vert, just an eduacted guess, may be something simpler like a fuse or wire

The tracks might be crudded up with old dirt and grime. Or your roof motor might be dead. I know most of my cars' roof motors were weak and always kind of need a little push to get them to lift the roof skin. Can you hear the motor turn on when you press the button? If not then you may have shorted out the wiring or your motor might be dead.

If you're in a situation where you need it closed there is an access port to the manual linkage where you can use a hex key(alen wrench) to open/close the roof.

Hi,

New to the board just got my FC a few days ago and i'm having the same problem. the right side just won't go down. I have to push it down and that only makes it so that it can move, but not close completely. How do i fix that?

both of you need to open your sunroof and start cleaning the tracks with brake cleaner and a toothbrush. a word of advice, use a garbage bag to protect the headliner from getting dirty. once clean, I use white lithium grease, lub up the tracks real good then take some vasoline and lightly coat the outer sunroof panel gasket, helps bring it back life.

I tried the whole vasaline thing..and i think it's my motor dying or something.

It will start to open, but when it gets stuck on the right side, it will just click alot..kinda spooky and annoying. Probably gotta clean it out again thoug H

the motors have a kind of clutch pad inside the gear housing for situations like that, I'm unaware whether there is a "rebuild" for those motors. vasoline is only for the rubber gasket that goes around the panel cause vasoline will dry out too quickly to be used in the tracks, white lithium grease stays tacky for a very long time, but one downside of it's tackiness is it tends to collect dust and small pieces of leaves. just requires regular cleaning, about once a month should depending on how much it's used.
