ok people.. once more a small fc problem.. i was cruising at about 40.. when my speedo cable disconnected.. i heard this ringing noise and i see i have no speedometer working.. and i immediatly think that stupid cable!!!!!!!! so i pull over.. the cable is hanging out!!!! and tranny fluid is leaking everywhere!!! so i drive home quick luckily i was 7 min away! so i get home...and i immedietly reconnect the cable.. speedometer still doesnt work.. but my concern was running without enough gear oil and then my neighboor that has a rx7 vert(turbo II engine tranny diff and all tha works) tells me to look into the shifter... if it needs oil cuz i dont have jackstands to level the car to stick my finger on the side of the tranny to check it.. so the shifter level is good.... looks like nothings missing! so wtf is goin on? it doesnt grind gears or anything! like if i havent lost any fluid? whats goin on?

the little gear on the end of the speedo cable that meshes with a gear in the tranny to let you know what speed you're going...

 

oh chet i guess i mustve... damn here goes going to mazda again.. how much do those thing run u think?

 

i'd guess 20-50 bux, but considering the damn plastic POS that has the overflow nipple on it costs 40...it could be up to 100 bux...

 

damn it screwed in so perfectly... i thought something was missing it seemed to ez

 

well ill guess ill take a look at it tomorrow.. anybody have any different opinions?? or is it a sure thing that the little gear that meshes with tha tranny is lost somewhere on the roads of east orlando florida?

mine broke too on my TII. cost $50. usually the little pin inside breaks
