Exclamation Stuck Diff Fill Bolt?

I feel a little dumb asking this because I can not get this fill bolt out. Im using a impact gun with a universal and it still wont budge. Any suggestions?

Not to be a wise ***, but are you sure you're spinning that impact gun lefty-loosey, not righty-tighty? Never had trouble with one of those plugs using either a ratchet/socket or combo wrench.

Breaker bar, six point socket, and cheater pipe? Maybe a little heat from a propane torch? That oughta do it.

I hope you didn't drain it first.

I'd heat it with a propane torch and try a long breaker bar.

Id heat it just enough to soften any threadlock or goop the PO might have used, then cool the bolt with a blast of wd40 or any other aerosol and have at it with impact socket and big ****** breaker bar.

Basically what they said; 6 point 1/2" drive socket & breaker bar. Marinate the plug in PB blaster first & let it sit a while. If that doesn't get it, then heat it with a propane torch to loosen whatever thread lock compound or sealant a PO or prior idiot mechanic might have used. Be very careful with the torch; given how close the gas tank is.

I've never had one of those fill plugs seize in the housing. What kind of impact gun are you using? I usually just use my Ridgid electric impact on those and they pop right out. You can try and breaker bar and a short socket. Deep well sockets reduce torque output. Be sure to get a new crush washer for the plugs.

Just stick a 24mm wrench on it and push on it with your foot for more power.

Worst comes to worst, just fill it by removing the stub shaft.

Or the vent? I've never tried it that way, but you should be able to take the cap off. Just don't put more than 1 1/2 qts in.
