Stripped my diff fill-port bolt/plug

Went to change my differential fluid the other day, and damn was that thing tight. So tight, in fact, that as I was hanging by the wrench it started to strip. I never even got it off. I'm gonna jack some vice-grips from work and try that, but does anyone have any other ideas?

Either vice grips or have a *good* *experienced* mechanic take a shot at it. That does suck though...

If you were using a 12-point socket or wrench, try using a 6-point instead. They don't strip as easily.

its a little hard to get impact or even rachets in that area. . . it was for me anyways. no worries really. i had two tranny plugs. . . cause i thought i lost one of em. i took one and put it in the place of the stripped out filler plug. i stuck a screwdriver in there first to see if it would hit anything. it cleared the area like a champ. no problems. . . . id suggest it.
