stuck apex seals

I bought two NA rx-7s that had been sitting for who knows how long. I'm in the middle of rebuilding one of the engines, and all of the apex, side, and corner seals were locked in place by rust. I was wondering if there was any way to fix this in the engine still together. I'm not opposed to a drastic remedy here. Thanks

have you checked compression and coolant pressure tested the other engine? if the seals are stuck then your only hope really is to pour atf or some other crap in the motor and maybe rock the car back and forth in gear. then spin the engine over and see if you can get the seals unstuck. this is drastic though, the best thing for it would be a rebuild.

I've tried ATF
and I rolled her down hill about 1/2 mile in 3rd gear, when I did this it sort of "ran" but it stalled on any sort of uphill or on anything besides a downhill. It doesnt run so I cant take it to dealer for compression check.

You can buy a good compression gauge at sears for $30.00. A rebuild is probably the best way to restore the engine. I took apart a motor like that, and I let the rotor soak in diesel fuel for a week to get all the rust off and free up the seals.

is there any way I could get diesel fuel in the motor and let sit for a while? block the exhaust? keep in mind I'm already rebuilding one motor already.

Theres no way around a rebuild on this one. It's entirely possible that the rust has literally locked those seals on place. The only thing that could budge them is something that dissolves rust.

Pour some CLR remover down there? lol

That engine just needs a rebuild.

Rebuild the engine. Once you've taken the engine apart, you'll see that there was no way around it.
