Struts/Springs

I am thinking of replacing the front and rear struts using the old springs on a 1987 RX7 two door coupe. I had replaced the rear ones years ago and didn't have any problems. I didn't do the front at the time. I will take the complete spring/strut assembly to a shop and have them change out the struts but I was wondering how hard it is to remove the front spring/strut assembly. I have some mechanical ability and the necessary tools but don't want to take on something I can handle. Thanks for any information.

its really easy, once the wheels are off, its a clip for the brake hose, 2 bolts and 4 nuts on the top.

You didn't mention it, but you might want to have the shop replace the upper strut mounts while they're at it. Aftermarket KYB's will run you about $40 each.
Also when reassembling, you should keep the rubber protrusion (shown in photo at the 7 o'clock position) in the same position as the original one wrt to the car's strut tower. It'll change your alignment if it's off. Suggest taking a photo of the top of each strut before removing them from the car.
