rear shocks and springs swap....HELP!!!!!!!

Exclamation rear shocks and springs swap....HELP!!!!!!!

strut is completely out spring is compressed.............................unable to remove center nut, shat just spins. thought i could use a pry bar on the top strut mounting studs but t just spins also. all i am wanting to do is put my new springs on.

any help? I'm in the driveway right this instant

just found a 2 yesr-old post about an impact wrench gettin-er-done.

you can hold the top of the shock mounting bit with pliars if you are careful, thats how i pulled mine off.

I did mine with a impact.. real easy with it.

It's easier if you loosen the top nut before you compress the spring.

i just got bored and figured i would throw the new springs on, would whipped out the impact wrech but didn't wanna go wakin people up.

IF you loosen the nut BEFORE jacking the car up, you'll be successful in loosening the nut. You don't take it completly off though for obvious reasons, at least until you get the thing out and into some spring compressors.

i have an air compressor, just didn't want to make a bunch of loud noise that late at night.

with the impact wrench the job was cake. only took a little over an hour.

i gotta say, the eibachs feel great
