stripped/gutted 87 rx7 turbo ll - reassembly
Title says all. Picked up for $300 bucks, 90% of the car is here, but disassembled. Right now just working on interior.
I tried looking on google images and threw build threads here, but having problems finding any pictures of a dash that is torn apart, just to get an idea of how things go together. Anyone have any links to good threads or pictures of a car with dash removed or anything like that?
I noticed I have a few parts with mitsubishi emblems on them. Were any mitsubishi parts used in these cars? I assume several sensors and things could have been.
Another thing I have noticed is the yellow box behind the temp control panel that houses the chip board, there is a wiring harness that has been cut. Not sure if this was a piece from the factory that wasn't necessary in my car or what. Trying to get some pictures up on here, but having difficulty.

Ok found the cut wires and in the process of soldering. I'm about ready to put the dash back on, but I've got a couple mystery boxes that I'm unsure of location. One is the mitsu part that looks like a control box.

Get rid of that plastic crap with the cut wires and get a used Logicon(ac/heater controls) as it has that part Intact on it.
You need to post pics as people can only guess as to what you are trying to describe and frankly you won't get solid answers if you can't show what you are referring to.

Flasher unit mounts to the driver's side kick panel area near the Fuse box.
That other thing is a cruise control Ecu (If I recall correctly..if not I am sure I will get corrected!.).mounts pretty well in same location.

I've got it all back together to see what all I'm missing. I hooked it up to battery to see what has power and what doesn't. With key turned on only the lights in the doors and overhead work. Nothing else has power. I took pictures of everything left over. Note that the cut wires on the passenger side are the same wires that are bare in the radio area.
First 2 pictures are of the same plug just a view from both sides. This plug should go around the feet, steering wheel area.
Second set of 2 pictures are wires in the radio area, and I'm assuming one set would go to an aftermarket radio, and I'm wondering if the similar colored sets of wires don't go to speakers.
Last picture is of the cut wires on the passenger side. Don't mind the fact that I'm still in my pjs, day off....
I'm going over wiring diagrams as best I could but having some difficulties. The color abbreviations have be stumped at times. L is blue right? But LG is light green? What is the abbreviation for light blue?

The ignition switch has 4 plugs connected to it. One of these plugs features two wires which are Black and a Black/White wire. The Black wire powers the ignition switch such that when you turn the key to acc, on or start the Black wire provides the power for these items. Thus the Black wire of the front harness must have constant voltage so the key can power the necessary items. You don't need the key to power the lights you mentioned for the BTN fuse in the engine fuse box powers the necessary fuses in the interior fuse box which is separate from relying on the ignition switch. So, make sure this Black wire has constant voltage.

Ah, good point. I've found that the set of wires cut on passenger side and in the center are speaker and amp wires. The leftover plug on drivers side should go to a power steering box, which I am apparently missing. I will try and trace the ignition wire and see what I come up with.
