Street Port, Necessary

Just had a question regarding Streetporting the TII engines. If later on I were to upgrade the turbo system to the Greddy TD06 system, my goal would to be in the low 300whp range, nothing to crazy. is it really a big difference or necessary to have the engine streetported or would it be fine just to leave the porting stock for that hp range?

that turbo is way to small to make it to the low 300hp range.
Even on a large street port, it will propably have trouble hitting 300.

You can make a lot of power from a streetport, but that would require disassembling the engine. To some people its a hassle.
You dont HAVE to streetport to make it to the 300 hp range, it just makes it easier to get there lol

^ TD06" can mean a lot of things. It can be a TD06-20G, which was available in a Greddy kit for the FC3s and has done over 300 to the wheels. Check the dyno threads. It could also be a TD06-25G (aka Greddy T67) which will certainly have no trouble breaking 350.

It could also be an internally wastegated TD06-18G like Greddy puts on the Rx-8 turbo kit. That makes about as much power as the stock FC turbo. There are also a bunch of TD05/TD06 hybrid turbos meant for 4 cylinders.

If the OP is referring to the Greddy 20G kit, he should probably be able to meet his goals (low 300s) with that. This guy has a 356rwhp dyno sheet with an Rtek and street port, at only 12psi: https://www.rx7club.com/time-slips-dyno-128/356hp%4012psi-td-06-20g-bolt-kit-751732/
