A "stage II" street port costs about $400 at the only place I could find around here to do it. they say $100 per port. Thats at check point racing in Sacramento. I plan to have mine done there this week it looks like.

You can bring in just the housing's and its $400 with a 2 day turn around time. If you want to do the rebuild yourself. Thats my plan, they will have my housing's late this week. They are the ONLY place I could find in N. Cali that will do just the porting without doing the rebuild themselfs. Other places I tried said "Ahh no, we only port if we do the rebuild" thats BS ... a place in pleasanton I called said "you have to bring the car" I was like WTF! Ya I want to pay you $5000 to pull the engine, rebuild it, put it back in. I can do everything cept the machine work myself I don't need to pay you asses. I was kinda ticked at that and I think that is sorry *** costomer service ... They missed out on the 5 grand in Mod parts I'm going to buy I tell ya that. Greedy asses.
Edit: Not sure if that sounds right but.... ya, they told me bring the whole car only. I asked if I could just bring the housings' or the block ... they said nope. whole car or nothing.
In other words they want all the labor, they are not happy with $400 to port the motor.

check out tri point and mazdtrix down south they are closer to you than driveing to SAC for that. Your best bet is to just buy a rebuilt and have them do it at the same time. Also Hayes rotary in WA does good work, Don the owner has been doing mazdas for a long time.
There web page is www.hayesrotary.com
