Street Port

Hi,
I am in the market for a TII and found one that had been ported. How much power does a TII make with a street port and exaust system? Does porting reduce engine life?

Yes, porting reduces engine life. More air=more fuel=more boom=more stress.

With streetport and exhaust system, but most other components stock (turbocharger, intercooler, ignition, etc) a TII would probably make about 190-230 rwhp depending on S4 or S5 TII, how it is tuned, condition of engine, and size of streetport.

So according to you bridgeport a street port is worth a measly 8 HP on a S4? They come with a 182 stock I think it will dish out a bit more than 8HP. I recommend anyone wanting to know what to expect for real to check Mazdatrix or somthing instead of listen to some of these idiots on here.

a mild streetport will not reduce engine life that much...anything reduces engine life that you do for performance..but i wouldnt give him the idea that its gonna only last 50k or something..were not talking a peripheral port.

Maybe you should make your context clear. It is pure folly to accuse someone else of making assumptions when you leave them no choice. Since the original post was about the engine, and not the entire car, it was logical to assume all following posts would be of the same type, unless clearly stated other wise. Some people just aren't happy with their own ability. They have to rag on others.

With a ported motor, you can also run upgrade turbo and stuff without the risk of blowing or messing up the motor as easily.
