has anyone ever seen a black switch and a small red button mounted under the steering wheel above the air vent on an '87 fc n/a. if so what does it do?

also just below the switch there is what looks like a micro phone mounted, did fc's ever come with car phones?

The switch may have been a previous owners attempt(possibly successful) at installing a fuel cut off switch, the 'microphone' object is beyon me but may be another oddity

 

I wish i had a digital camera to show everyone but I dont oh well

 

either trace the wires or click the switch and see what happens..never know you just may have fog-lights ..and didn't even know you had them!..but if it starts tickin..run like hell..lol

 

Probably something to do with an aftermarket alarm.

Pull the panel off and see where the wires go!

maybe its the "ricer" mode. flip it and BAMN! you get: a HUGE aluminum wing, NOS purge but thats all it does, purges, an embarassing bodykit with embarassing graphics to match, and last but not least......euros!

but seriously, it sounds like an alarm. the microphone is to sence breaking glass or a shut door. scour under the dash for a control unit that doesn't belong there.
