There is no way to get around emissions in this car? I know with my Celica I just put a resistor in the wire going to the second O2 sensor and it got rid of the MIL from having no cat.

These cars are old enough where the sniffer test s required.

That said...Maryland may have no sniffer test so getting rid of the cat is no big deal.

Oh do they do that test in NY? I've never had a car older then 2000. I know my cousin has an 87 Supra and I'm pretty sure he bought it with just a 3 inch straight pipe with a can on the end and he passed inspections with it so I'm pretty sure they don't, at least not upstate.

This is what I puled up on NY emissions.

Some vehicles are exempt from emissions inspections: vehicles one model year old or newer, vehicles at least 26 model years old, vehicles with vintage or historic plates, electric vehicles, motorcycles, farm equipment, homemade or custom vehicles in the upstate area, and diesel vehicles weighing 8,500 pounds or less.

The supra doesn't fall into it, but piston motors are a different beast when it comes to passing emissions.

OP: The racing beat collects into a 2.5" and the stock y to the tails is a 2 I believe. I would just make the pipe 2.5. that way if you ever get the catback from RB you won't need a new straight pipe.

oh yeah I know it isn't exempt from passing emissions inspection I just think that the inspection in NY is only checking for emissions CELs and if the car isn't OBD-I or OBD-II they can't check that and I am pretty sure they don't officially have to test the exhaust gasses themselves only for engine codes, because I mean his couldn't have passed if they had to because in NY the emissions testing is directly connected to the state network and they can't print out a sticker unless it passes.
