Steering wheel question.

Have a second gen steering wheel on my first gen, the center section keeps falling off. What is it that is supposed to hold that sucker on and how might I go about re-attaching it?

depending on which one you have, it should be held on by screws from the back.

elmers glue will hold it great...and it won't bond permanently to anything in case the wheel has to be removed.

if its the 86-87 two spoke one, with the two horn buttons, the center just snaps on. If it is the 3-spoke style, the center is held on with 3 screws from the back.

how do you get at the screws while the wheel is attached, haven't looked at it too close but it seems that it would be quite difficult to reach those screws from the back of the wheel, then again maybe I can just rotate the wheel and get at them, look at it tomorrow in the day.

but anyway to answer your question...there are three screws on yours...the one at the bottom middle and two on ethier side of the wheel...and they are all on the back of course!!!

by the way I have now completed my 5 speed conversion!! Can't wait for the next Auto X...I might go to the track tomorrow!!

Well I don't know how the plastic trim is on a first gen but on a second all the plastic comes off around the steering column, it is does the same on a first gen I'm sure you will have to take the trim off to bolt the piece on.
