Steering wheel off-centre?

Is anyone elses wheel off to the right a bit? It doesn't really bother me... but I just found a 'technical service bulletin' about it (the summary at least) which leads me to believe it might be able to be fixed??? anyone?

an alignment shop can do it. if it's off, either the last time it was aligned they did a crappy jop and didn't hold it in the center. or it's gotten really off since it was done..

I always thought the steering wheel was round.

Seriously, the steering wheels is on a splined shaft, and you might be able to straighten them by pulling them off and moving it over one (or more) splines.

Pop the center "MAZDA" cap in the center carefully with a small flat-head screwdriver.&nbsp You'll see the big center nut inside.&nbsp Loosen the nut (not remove!) and wiggle the steering wheel off carefully!&nbsp Don't slip and knock yourself out!&nbsp It takes some serious yanking to get it loose, but it will come off eventually.&nbsp After loosening, remove nut and mark the wheel - move over enough splines to center.

Go check out the steering wheel on a 97 Dodge Caravan! NOT ROUND!!!

Seriously, it's bloody ODD to drive... it just doesn't feel right...

...of course my mother never noticed.. but then she doesn't notice when she drives home on flat tires either...

I think Blowtus is talking about the steering column is not perfectly perpendicular to the dashboard assembly.

Yes, my '87 TII is the same- I only noticed it when I was putting my MOMO on.

it seems perpendicular enough... it's just perpendicular too far over to the right.

lol... thats even worse dammit... honestly even my dad doesn't notice car "feel" things (like suspension, alignment, etc...) and so he's all shocked when I tell him something is wrong with his car...

...then of course I don't think he drives like I do...
