Starting trouble
Hey guys.
Ever since my rebuild... my 7 takes a while to start... i have to cut the fuel pump most of the time because it gets flooded while starting. Its not the "short stop" scenario.... i got new apex seals as well... could this be what's causing the trouble? Its not a big deal, i mean i can put up with it... but it'd be nice if it starts up properly The weather is rather chilly recently... and the engine was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago... it seems to be getting better... but not much. Any advice? Timing has been set already

Heh... I actually noticed that noise before it went in for a rebuild... I think its because of the cold... i mean it was -10 celcius yesterday... so yeah

I got an 87 6 port turbo (Home made TII) I just rebuilt the engine installed 12a Turbo 720cc injectors for secondaries, kept the n/a computer and ported the exhaust only. If you want to get rid of the hard to start problem go for a long long long drive do not turn the car off until you get home. This will help a lot, check temperature and oil pressure constantly... Remember when apex seals are new they have to take the contour of the used housing...

Well the oil pressure is a different story... ever since the rebuild, it has been very low, almost zero. *shrug* it drives perfectly fine. With the warmer weather, it floods much more readily. I don't know why... but I must admit, the engine is much smoother than before the rebuild. i tried MMO already, and the carb trick.
Thanks

Oh crap man, about the low oil pressure, I had the same problem with my 2nd rebuild..
did you rebuild it yourself? or someone do it for you ?
at idle I would have BARELY above 0 psi oil (on stock guage that is) and at about 3k I would have like 30...
it was low and I found out what the problem was..
front cover O ring was pinched and cut in half... Oil was spilling back into the oil pan instead of shooting through the engine.... May want to check into that...
