Starting problems?????

Im trying to get my mom's car to run again. It's a 88 turbo II with a rebuilt S5 engine. So 0 miles on it. Has the S4 turbo, removed emissions and a exhaust. Anyway it starts right up, revs to about 2.5k then shuts off. It doesnt matter if you have the foot on the pedal still does the same thing reguardless. BTW the intercooler is not installed yet, but the AFM, TPS is all plugged in. The temperature sensor has a broken prong so thats not plugged. I tried looking for vacuum leaks but couldnt find any. Could this be an injector problem? as the injectors are the original items. Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

Anywayz, I would check your grounds. It starting up then reving to 2.5k is meaning the cold start assist is working. But it cutting off means you may have a loose ground somewhere. Could be anything though.

Uhh, the intercooler needs to be installed or jumpered with a hose.

It needs to be a closed system and you have a massive vac leak without it being installed or a hose jumpering it in its place.

So is that the problem? I have always run a standalone in my FC so I know nothing of the stock ECU. Anyway it has the TB mod, so it shouldnt be revving out.

if the intercooler (or a hose jumpering it) is not installed, the whole intake including the throttle body won't be working right
